Chery has named its first bakkie for South Africa Grootman, a name chosen by South Africans. The model is planned to make its local debut in the first quarter of 2027.

Motus Select celebrated its first birthday in November, where the group reflected on the change-over of twenty-one pre-existing Imperial Select dealerships a year ago.
According to the company, the initial rebranding continued as new dealerships were being added to the Motus Select network on an almost monthly basis.
The expansion of Motus Select includes the opening of new dealerships as well as the rebranding of existing pre-owned facilities within the Motus group.
Motus says its new corporate identity ensures a more modern, appealing and upmarket shopping experience for customers. The latest additions to the Motus Select network include Motus Select Bloemfontein and Motus Select Culemborg in Cape Town.
As of November 2021, the Motus Select dealer network comprised of thirty-seven dealerships, with representation right across South Africa, housing in excess of 1 500 used vehicles.
Despite this expanded brick and mortar presence, buyers can also view the stock available across the entire Motus Select network at www.motusselect.co.za. The website features a number of search filters to narrow down the selection, and shoppers can even start the finance process online once they have found a vehicle that matches their criteria.
All pre-owned vehicles offered for sale via Motus Select are subjected to a thorough inspection process and are sold with a roadworthy certificate. The Motus used car quality control process eliminates the chances of any stolen or rebuilt vehicles being offered for sale.
Stock on new vehicles continues to be in short supply owing to continued global supply chain disruptions and semiconductor shortages. The knock-on effect is that many shoppers are forced to buy pre-owned vehicles, which is seeing the market experiencing an unprecedented demand for high quality pre-owned vehicles.
