What is it?
The Across is Suzuki’s most advanced SUV locally. It sits in the compact-to-mid-size SUV category, offering practicality, efficiency, and modern driver assistance features.
Exterior:
The design includes LED projector headlamps with DRLs, a trapezoidal grille, and protective cladding. GL models have 17-inch dark grey alloys, while GLX models feature dual-tone machined alloys. The rear has a full-width LED taillamp cluster, roof spoiler, and aluminium-look skid plate. Colour options include single-tone finishes, with GLX offering optional dual-tone paint.
Interior:
The cabin is minimalist and practical, with split-fold rear seats, inductive charging, multiple storage points, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system. GL models use fabric upholstery and include reverse camera, cruise control, and six airbags. GLX adds synthetic leather with copper stitching, ventilated power seats, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, premium audio, and advanced driver assistance systems.
Engine:
Both trims use Suzuki’s 1.5-litre K15C mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 76kW and 137Nm. Features include regenerative braking and start/stop technology. Fuel consumption is 5.3 l/100km. GL offers manual or automatic gearboxes; GLX is automatic only.
Electric vehicles (EVs) have introduced a whole new vocabulary into motoring. Instead of simply talking about litres of fuel, cylinders and kilometres per tank, motorists are now confronted with kW, kWh, AC, DC, WLTP, regenerative braking and a host of other terms.
