Renault Trafic passenger returns to South Africa

Renault South Africa has reintroduced the Renault Trafic Passenger, reviving one of the brand’s most recognised global nameplates after nearly two decades away from local roads. The new model arrives as part of Renault’s product expansion strategy, aimed at meeting the evolving mobility needs of families, shuttle operators and business users seeking a refined, spacious and versatile people-mover.

What is it?

The Trafic Passenger is Renault’s solution for multi-purpose transport. Designed to seat up to nine occupants, it bridges the gap between family MPVs and commercial shuttles. Its modular layout and generous cargo capacity make it equally suitable for private use, airport transfers or corporate fleets. The model strengthens Renault’s presence in both the passenger and light commercial segments.

Interior:

Inside, the Trafic Passenger prioritises comfort and connectivity. The cabin features an 8-inch multimedia display, digital instrument cluster and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Depending on the trim level, amenities include a wireless phone charger, heated driver’s seat and upgraded upholstery. Storage is abundant, with up to 84.2 litres distributed throughout the cabin. The flexible seating arrangement allows easy conversion between passenger and cargo configurations, providing up to 6 000 litres of space when required.

Exterior:

Renault’s distinctive design language shines through with Pure Vision C-shaped LED headlights, a bold diamond logo and 16-inch alloy wheels. Optional accessories such as roof bars, side steps, towbar and illuminated door sills allow owners to tailor the vehicle to their lifestyle or business needs.

Price, models and warranty:

The range comprises three derivatives:

Trafic 2.0 dCi Evolution (R979 999), Trafic 2.0 dCi Evolution+ (R1 016 999) and the Trafic 2.0 dCi Techno+ (R1 049 999). Each model includes a 5‑year/150 000 km-mechanical warranty, 5‑year/90 000 km-service plan, and 24‑hour roadside assistance.
