What is it?

The Creta 1.5 Premium is a new derivative powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, priced at R434 900, which is R44 000 cheaper than the outgoing 2024 model. It is positioned as a value-focused option in the compact SUV market.

Alongside it, Hyundai has launched the Creta 1.5T N Line, marking the first time this performance-inspired model is available locally. Priced at R569 900, the N Line caters to buyers seeking a sportier character without losing everyday usability.

Interior:

The Premium model’s cabin includes USB charging, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth with voice recognition, automatic headlamp control, a 4.2-inch supervision display and keyless entry with start. The N Line raises the specification with full leather upholstery, wireless smartphone charging and Bluetooth connectivity. Both models are designed to balance practicality with modern convenience, while the N Line adds a more premium and performance-oriented feel.

Exterior:

On the outside, the Premium comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, rear combination lamps and electrically folding mirrors. The N Line distinguishes itself with 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, LED headlights, daytime running lights, a panoramic sunroof and a satin-black grille. These styling cues give the N Line a more aggressive and distinctive presence compared to the more understated Premium.

Powertrain:

The Creta 1.5 Premium is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 84 kW and 144 Nm, paired with a manual transmission, delivering fuel consumption of 6.3 L/100 km, according to Hyundai. The N Line uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a dual-clutch transmission, producing 118kW and 253Nm. Both models retain SUV versatility, with the N Line offering a slightly higher stance at 1 635 mm compared to the Premium’s 1 620 mm.

Price and warranty:

The Premium is priced at R434 900, while the N Line is R569 900. Both derivatives come with a seven-year/200 000 km warranty and a four-year/60 000 km service plan. The N Line additionally includes seven-year/150 000 km roadside assistance.
