Foton Miler Lite lands in South Africa

Foton South Africa has announced the arrival of its first shipment of the new Miler Lite light commercial vehicle (LCV), due in August. This marks a key stage in the company’s expansion of its commercial vehicle line.

26 Miler1

The Miler Lite was introduced earlier this year and will now be available at dealerships nationwide. Importantly, it falls within the Code 08 licence category, meaning drivers only need a standard licence rather than moving into a heavier vehicle class. The vehicle is designed to bridge the gap between a bakkie and a larger truck, offering a payload of 1.6 tonnes and powered by a 92kW (320Nm) Aucan diesel engine.

“The arrival of the first shipment of the Miler Lite is an exciting moment for Foton South Africa,” says Marius Smal, CEO of Foton South Africa. “Since introducing the vehicle earlier this year, we’ve received significant interest from businesses looking for a practical commercial transport solution that offers more carrying capability without the complexity of moving into a heavier vehicle category.”

The Miler Lite is aimed at industries such as construction, agriculture, landscaping, logistics, municipal services and small-to-medium enterprises. Its compact dimensions make it suitable for busy urban areas, while its durable chassis and payload capacity ensure it can handle rural operations.

Two model derivatives are available, offering businesses flexibility to match their requirements. Depending on the specification, features include:

  • Air conditioning for comfort
  • Dual airbags for safety
  • ABS with EBD for braking stability
  • Daytime Running Lights and fog lamps for visibility
  • Dropside load body for easy access

Foton South Africa emphasises that the Miler Lite is intended to help businesses improve efficiency and productivity. With its fuel-efficient engine and straightforward licence requirement, it offers entrepreneurs and fleet operators a practical way to scale operations.

The arrival of the Miler Lite strengthens Foton’s growing portfolio of commercial vehicles, reinforcing its commitment to providing transport solutions that meet the evolving needs of South African businesses.
