UD Trucks Southern Africa has strengthened its presence in the Eastern Cape with the opening of UD Trucks Komani, a new dealership that joins the manufacturer's growing South African dealer network.

The facility, which officially opened its doors on 1 October 2026, is operated by Jacksons, a commercial vehicle business with deep roots in the region and a history stretching back almost a century.

The addition of the Komani dealership gives transport operators and fleet customers in the area access to UD Trucks' range of vehicles, parts and aftersales services closer to where they operate. It also extends the manufacturer's reach in a province that plays an important role in agriculture, logistics and regional transport activities.

For Jacksons, the move represents a significant milestone. The business was established in 1927 and is approaching its 100th anniversary in 2027. Since being acquired by Mark and Lucy Wilson in 1990, Jacksons has built a reputation in the commercial vehicle sector, serving customers across Komani and the surrounding region.

The company's long-standing presence in the local market was a key factor in its appointment as an authorised UD Trucks dealership. Its experience supporting transport businesses and commercial vehicle operators provides a foundation for the introduction of the UD Trucks brand to new customers in the area.

The new dealership will offer a full range of services, including vehicle sales, genuine parts supply, workshop support and maintenance services. For customers already operating UD Trucks products in the Eastern Cape, the facility provides an additional point of support, reducing the distance many operators may need to travel for servicing and technical assistance.

UD Trucks Komani enters the market with an established team covering sales, workshop operations and administration. The facility's workshop is led by experienced personnel supported by trained technicians, while the sales team will focus on working closely with local transport operators to understand their fleet and operational requirements.

The workshop is led by Workshop Manager Johan Pelser, supported by technical team members Fana, a Master UD Trucks Technician, as well as Ruan, Martin and Richard. On the administrative side, Liezel, Chante and Ilze will assist customers with bookings, administration and general enquiries.

The sales team is led by Dealer Principal Patrick Casey, supported by Vera Lieberum, Ayanda Dumezweni and Sbongile Mathebula.

The team's focus will be on building relationships with transport operators across the region, understanding their operational requirements and matching them with the right UD Trucks solutions and support.

The dealership also benefits from Jacksons' long association with the local community. Over several decades, the company has developed strong relationships with businesses and residents in the region, creating a customer base that extends beyond its commercial operations.
